Strangers Things Season 5 release date, cast, plot and everything we know so far

According to a tweet from the show's writers, Stranger Things season 5 may be closely related to season 2.

Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in 2015 and quickly became one of the service's most popular offerings. The fantasy-horror series, created by Matt and Ross Duffer, is presently on its fifth season, which has been announced to be the series' final.

While details on Stranger Things season 5 are scant, the Stranger Things writers Twitter account has recently teased that the impending final episodes may have a relation to season 2.

Take a look at the tweet below:One fan wrote, "Season 2 robbed," after the season 3 finale won a poll pitting the four season finales against one other. One of the writers responded, saying, "I do think season 2 is consistently underrated." Recommend rewatching before season 5..."

Stranger Things Season 5 Could Be Related To Season 2Stranger Things has been a huge success for Netflix, but season 2 was a bit of a letdown.

Not every aspect of the show's sophomore season was widely adored, and some plot threads and characters were effectively dropped in following seasons. Stranger Things has an opportunity to bring back and further explore these ideas as the final season approaches.

Will, played by Noah Schnapp, appears to be a prominent character in Stranger Things season 5. The hair on the back of Will's neck stands up in the season 4 finale, a response that was used throughout season 2 to indicate the presence of the Mind Flayer.

With the Mind Flayer appearing to have survived the events of the season 3 finale, Will and his dark link to the beast, and to the Upside Down in general, might become a pivotal storyline.

Season 2 also introduces Kali (Linnea Berthelsen), another survivor of Hawkins Lab's operations. Stranger Things season 2's Kali-focused episode was notably polarising, and the character hasn't been seen or heard from since.

In order to wrap up this loose plot thread, Stranger Things season 5 will almost certainly involve Kali's reappearance or, at the absolute least, clarify what happened to the character.
